A rocket is a device propelled forward by the reaction force generated from the ejection of working medium by its engines, and each successful launch proposes stringent requirements on rocket hardware, launch operations, and launch site engineering. Among these, the launch tower flame diverter plays a critical role.
The launch tower flame diverter, a vital infrastructure component of the launch site, channels the intense flames produced by the ignition of rocket boosters during launch to the outer side of the tower, thereby mitigating damage to surrounding facilities caused by high temperatures. During a rocket launch, the exhaust gas is expelled at a velocity of 2,800 meters per second, with localized instantaneous temperatures exceeding 2,000°C, accompanied by high-speed shock waves and reflected waves. This demands exceptional performance in terms of high-temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance, ablation resistance, high-temperature strength, thermal stability, and explosion-proof capabilities, far surpassing the requirements of traditional high-temperature industrial refractory materials and technologies.
